Check out the event page on Facebook, share it like mad, and come party with us!
Crystal Explosion says: Don’t let fear stop you. It’s not about what you look like or your previous performing experience. It’s about attitude and confidence and seduction and fun. Find music you love and an idea that inspires you.
Ginger Mae Chevalier says: You will need a glue gun, glue sticks, Jewel-It fabric glue, sticky back felt, and some imagination.
Alice says: First, get an iPod and a flashlight. Next you’ll need glitter…lots and lots of glitter…
Yours truly says: If there’s a troupe in your area, chances are they’d be happy to have some extra hands! Don’t get discouraged if you’re not able to jump into performing right away— take every opportunity to learn by helping out behind the scenes or during shows. You may also search for local classes in burlesque dancing. If there’s not a troupe or classes in your area, keep browsing the net for good resources and contacts, and don’t overlook your local library— books on stagecraft, vintage fashion, theatrical costumes and makeup, sewing and dance are all good resources that aren’t strictly burlesque-related. The best way to promote is to be active in the local scene— go to shows, go to events, get to know as many people as you can. Build a presence online. And stay excited about what you do— it’s contagious!
